What Causes Rashes On Knuckles And Fever?

default
Posted on Mon, 24 Aug 2015
Question: I have a small rash that appears on my knuckles at the base of fingers. It appears on both hands, it comes and goes but not always on both hands at the same time. I also experience unexplained fever ranging up to 103 degrees F prior to the rash appearing. The fever typically only last 24hours. Any recommendations for the cause would be great.

Brief Answer:
Most probably allergic reacion

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Thank you for getting back with the answers. I have gone through them. Features are suggestive of allergic response. As your symptoms are chronic so certain extra measures need to be taken care off. If i were your treating doctor then i would have advised following things:

- cetirizine one at night for 5 days
- wash/change bedding thoroughly.
- apply Betamethasone 1mg over the burning area.
- Montelukast one daily for one month. Research has shown that it decreases the allergic symptoms considerably.

Hope I have answered your query. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help if not then don't forget to close the discussion and rate it.
Wishing you good health !!
