Brief Answer:
Causes of ring finger beating and need more information

Detailed Answer:
Hi xxxxxxxxxxxxx, thanks for asking from HCM.

I can understand your concern. You are a known diabetic. The ring finger beating in a diabetic patient should not be ignored. It can be due to

- Vascular cause - peripheral vascular disease like atherosclerosis can cause decrease in blood supply to extremities. In such case doing hard work with hand can cause pain/burning in fingers. It is more common in lower limbs rather than upper.

It can be suspected more if there is change in skin texture, progressive thinning of hand, darkening of skin tips.

- Neuropathy - peripheral sensory neuropathy can cause such symptoms. Diabetes can cause sensory, motor or mixed neuropathy. Usual sensory symptoms are decreased sensations, tingling, burning pain and involvement of hands and feet.

It can be suspected more if there is uncontrolled blood sugar history.

To suspect or make diagnosis, I need more information about your symptoms.

Is it first time?
What about your blood sugar control?
What was the value of HbA1c, done last time?
Is the symptom bilateral?
What is the duration of diabetes?
Are there any changes in hands or feet?

Hope you will answer these questions. If you have any doubt, do let me know.
Thanks. Take care.
