Posted on Wed, 29 Jun 2016
Question: My son (5years old) has suddenly 8 hours ago started to have rapid involuntary eye movement (rolling back and to left side) 3 jerks at a time
The movements got very Freequent after an hour. Took him to doctor immediately who had never seen it before and arranged urgent appointment with eye clinic with ophthalmologist
There he went through various tests to check his eyes. The results were that his eyes were clear and ok.
The ophthalmologist recommended we see a neurologist.
I have short video with symptoms

Brief Answer:
Most likely due to seizure

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Thanks for asking on this platform

I have gone through the details and do understand your concern.
Rapid jerky movement of eye which is sudden in onset is most likely due to seizure.
Here I have few queries like
Does his sensorium remains normal(converses and follows demand as usual during the attack) due the abnormal jerky movement?
Is there any similar past history or any family history of seizure?
Any history of delayed cry after birth?
Any fever or other associated symptoms.

I would also recommend you to consult a neurologist as suggested by your doctor to rule out or confirm the seizure disorder.
Again I suggest you not to worry till the reports come.
He may need to give some anti epileptic medication to control the seizure.

I hope this answers your queries.
Please let me know if you have any more doubts.
Thanks and regards
