What Causes Raised Brown Spots Around The Waist And Thighs?

default
Posted on Tue, 12 Jul 2016
Question: I have noticed slightly raised brown spots around my waist. About pea size. They down hurt. I have about 6 of theme or so. I am 5'6" and 240 lbs, so overweight. Not sure if they are from rubbing or something more serious. I have also noticed two on my inner thigh. I assumed this was from chafing. I think I have had one for the better part of 20 years, but only recently see them popping up around my waist.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome

I appreciate your concern

Based on your description and the image which you uploaded, it appears to be warts commonly associated with HPV.

Cautery can be done especially if they are spreading. If the lesions are changing color and your doctor / dermatologist is not sure about its benign nature then a biopsy can be advised to confirm the diagnosis.

please consult your doctor before taking any further course of action

wishing you best of health

Thanks
