Brief Answer:
may be a bacterial infection

Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

This means that an infection is present, likely a bacterial infection since you are noting a discharge.

The hair follicles in the vaginal region can become infection like the hair follicles on any other aspect of the skin.

To treat the infection you should consider: (1) using an antiseptic soap to help reduce the bacterial present

(2)apply a topical antibiotic to the area, this should be available over the counter eg neosprorin, fucidin, bactroban.

Should be done twice daily after the use of the antiseptic soap

(3)you may need a course of oral antibiotics if the above is not sufficient

(4)if the lesions are very large , indicating that a large abscess (collection of pus) is present, then you would need to have the lesions incised and drained by your doctor.

This is an in office procedure

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions

Brief Answer:
yes, this can occur

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Yes, this can occur if all of the discharge present does not come out of the area then a very small amount remaining can cause recollection.

Warm compress to the area would help with drainage but incision and drainage of any large areas by your doctor would be ideal to make sure all of the discharge is gone

After resolves, continued use of an antiseptic soap would reduce the chance of recurring
