default
Posted on Mon, 8 Jun 2015
Question: Hello, I have a hard pea size purplish lump under the skin just around the outside/pushed in a little to the inside of my rectum. The only discomfort I feel is some muscle ache in my upper right buttocks cheek. Maybe some itching but not much. Very concerned and nervous. I am a 48 yr old female.

Brief Answer:
Hemorrhoids.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Welcome to Healthcare Magic.

I had gone through your question and understand your concerns.

In my opinion you are suffering from hemorrhoids that are a very common medical condition. You may notice a lump near your anus area, small amounts of blood on your toilet tissue after bowel movements, itching, pain or discomfort.

I suggest you to use over the counter cream or suppositories for hemorrhoids (because you do not have itchiness and pain i suggest you not to use hydrocortisone suppositories). Do not use it more than 7 days. Also try to increase fiber in your diet to soften your stools. You can find fiber in fresh fruits and vegetables.

If these treatment and diet will not help you should contact with your doctor so that he or she may recommend you tests to rule out other serious conditions.

Hope I have answered your query. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.

Thank you for your answer...Hemorrhoids.
I have muscle ache/tenderness in my lower buttocks or hip area on my right side. Is that a side effect of Hemorrhoids which was your educated diagnosis? I was concerned about an infection? Anything else I should be concerned about? Please give details. Did you view my pictures?

Brief Answer:
Suppositories and sitz baths.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Sorry for late reply.

Yes, I saw your pictures. You can experience this pain in your buttocks so you do not have to be concerned about any serious conditions.

You do not have an anal abscess which is an infection in the glands of the anus and is very painful. Also it is not an anal fistula or yeast infection which can cause itching in the anal area.

I suggest you to use suppositories for hemorrhoids, sitz baths with Oak Bark two times a day. Don't push too hard when you are trying to have a bowel movement.

Best regards.
