What Causes Persistent Chest Pain And Nausea?

Posted on Sat, 6 May 2017
Question: Hi Sir, My age 25, i quit smoking in august 2016 and after that i had chest pain on regular basis and nausea feeling. I surfed on google to check it showed that these are symptoms of heart attack. I was very scared that time and after that i went through ECG few times and then undergone with TMT and 2d echo test recently and it showed normal. But i am still scared coz i keep on having pain in chest and also on shoulder comes and goes often daily basis and also opposite to elbow side and wrist. One of the doctor said i would not be having a heart attack for next fews years atleast and another doctor said to have a nuclear stress test done. My BP always remains between 110/70 to 130/25 and i also went through Lipid profile test. I know that we cannot say that a person cannot have an attack for life time. But can with this report we can say for its good for atleast few years and i will not have a attack for few years atleast. My Total cholestrol is 164, HDL is 38, LDL 103, Trigly is 114. I went for an TROP T test too and it came up with the range of 8.34pg/ml. I get a burning sensation in throat. Please help sir. Thanks

Brief Answer:
Don't worry, it's not heart attack

Detailed Answer:
Hello Rajath,

Don't worry, it's most likely gastritis and reflux disease. Not a heart attack. If TMT is normal then it rules out heart as a cause of pain and you'll not have heart attack at least for few years.

You should not restart smoking and should have a healthy lifestyle like low fatty, oily, spicy food and regular exercises so as to keep cholesterol under check which is borderline. Repeat Lipid profile after 3 months.

Have some walk after having food instead of taking rest. Have multiple small meals instead of heavy meals. Avoid alcohol (if you consume).

You should get prescribed tab Pan DSR (Pantoprazole/Domperidone sustained release)40 mg or Esomeprazole/Domperidone combination before breakfast once a day for 2 weeks.

Hope this helps you and get back if you have any doubts

Detailed Answer:
My dear,

No one can really take guarantee or say it 100 percent. But there is no reason to worry. Neither your symptoms nor your reports, age suggest that you'll have any risk of heart attack. So whatever I can judge from the entire scenario that in all probabilities you'll not have any heart attack in coming few years. So don't worry, stay calm, do regular exercises.

There are multiple organs in the chest and every chest pain is not heart attack especially in your age group. So be positive and engage yourself in other activities, try to neglect this. Have medicine which I mentioned in previous discussions.

Hope I am able to convince you regarding your health. Get back if you have any doubts.
