Brief Answer:
Needs evaluation by a dermatologist, reconsider viral syndrome diagnosis

Detailed Answer:
Hi! Welcome to health care magic!

Based on the brief information you shared and the diagnosis which doctor has come up with, the presence of a rash with skin crusts or peeling of skin needs a detailed evaluation. Generally viral syndromes are referred as those symptoms which doesn't have a composite cause known or established and usually settle at its own. Antibiotics are given by added infections caused by bacteria if suspicion is there.

Now since the peeling if skin is the new symptom so detailed evaluation for allergic, auto immune or bacterial infections has to be done and diagnosis of viral syndrome has to be re-thought. To start with, a carefully examination along with cultures of blood and inflammatory markers like ESR along with ANA need to be done.

Meanwhile try applying emolients like 50 50 solution of liquid paraffin and petroleum jelly or vaseline should be applied. Avoid direct exposure to cold and start taking supplements for vitamin A, C and E along with calcium.

Wishing you a speedy recovery. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask. Regards.
