Brief Answer:
Fungal infection of of hands and feet along with "athlete foot".

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Welcome and thanks for posting your query to the forum.

I can understand your concern for the peeling of hands and foot rash.

After analyzing the pictures with best diligence it appears to be the fungal infection of of hands and feet along with "athlete foot".

To tell you simply- Fungal infections are common type of infections which can affect anybody at any site. But more commonly it affects the areas which are more prone for moistness (as in your case). The web spaces are more prone over foot due to more moistness or continuous wearing of shoes.

Due to hot and humid climate or due to synthetic socks there is more moistness between the toes leading to growth of fungus. Once the skin is affected, the nearby nails are also affected. In your pictures you can see that your nails are also affected by fungus.

Kindly follow the suggestion below:

- Keep your self away from hot and humid climate.

- Wear cotton socks to be changed two times a day. Do not wear any synthetic socks.

-Don't try to scratch or rub the area as can lead to further aggravation of the problem.

- You apply antiperspirant powders daily 3-4 times to avoid future infection.

If I were your treating dermatologist then would have suggested to apply plane anti-fungal creams such as “Clotrimazole” or “Ketoconazole” or "Sertaconazole" or "Amorolfine " and take anti-fungal tablets according to medical supervision. I prefer to give either fluconazole or itraconazole as per the close physical examination of the area. A long term treatment of multiple months would be required for complete cure.

I suggest you to meet a dermatologist and get a personalized check up and accordingly best treatment for the same.

I hope this information will help you. If you have further queries I will be happy to help.

"Wish you good health and early recovery from the problem"

Brief Answer:
The medications need to be taken for multiple months.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Welcome back and thanks for your further follow up.

As I guided you earlier that you need to take antifungal tablets and apply antifungal creams. If I were your treating doctor then would have prescribed either fluconazole or itraconazole. It is to be taken for long period of time for multiple months. So it is best to get it prescribed from your treating doctor.

You are already applying lamisil which could be continued till you meet your treating doctor.

Follow the rest of the suggestions as guided before.

My best wishes for your earliest recovery.

With regards,

Dr Sanjay Kanodia
