What Causes Painful Urination?

default
Posted on Mon, 3 Nov 2014
Question: Hi. In the past year I had an episode of chalk color bowel. That cleared away. I have had series of epidurals, cortisone shots, trigger shots. I had a test that came back to me with elevated wbc. My doctors dismissed it thinking it was related to epidurals. Recently I experience a pain during urination. I went to the doctor and he had sonograms order. All is well except : incidental cholethiasis in gallbadder, as well as hepatomegaly and mild increased echogenicity in the right hepatic lobe due to fatty infiltration

Brief Answer:
Get urine examination test and liver enzymes done.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Cholelithiasis ( Gall stones) treatment depends upon size of stones and your symptoms. Asymptomatic patients can be treated with medications like ursodiol. If you are having any symptoms or stones cause any obstruction then it should be treated by surgery like cholecystectomy. Type of treatment will be decided by your doctor.

Fatty liver is a reversible condition and can be done by maintaining diet and life style modification. You need not worry about fatty liver.
You need to reduce your weight if you are over weight.
Avoid oily, spicy, fatty food.
You should eat healthy fruits and vegetables, salads.
Physical activity for 30 minutes like walking is important.

I also suggest you get complete urine examination done if you have not done to rule out urinary tract infection and liver function test as well.

Drink plenty of water which flushes organisms from urinary tract.

If you have any queries I will be happy to help you.

Thank you.
