Posted on Wed, 10 Dec 2014
Question: I have what look like a bruise on the top of my foot near my toes. There is a slight tenderness but no pain either or rest or while walking. I did not hit it against anything and it has been like this for 4 days. It does not look worse nor does it look better

Brief Answer:
Is it on friction point?

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query and a great observation and proper history.

I read the history and understood the problem.

May I know the exact area please ? Is it near the great toe or at the point of friction with your shoes/ sandals/ slippers? Did you just notice or there was an irritation?

Since there is no change in the last 4 days, you may keep observing if the local temperature is not raised.

You may please start the antibiotic and anti-inflammatory like Ibuprofen (if it suits you) for a few days if it is not getting resolved. Why to take a chance.

You may please post the good quality picture attached to this query for me to see and help you. Please feel free to ask for more if you need to.

Not near the big toe, across the bottom of the other 4 and toward top of foot. No irritation experienced. Did wear uncomfortable shoes in the airport, but not unusual for me and never experienced bruising from shoes in the past

Brief Answer:
Nothing to worry.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for the feedback and the clear picture.

Looks to be due to uncomfortable shoes.
And does not really need any treatment.
I hope this will heal on its own.
You may please take some anti-oxidants in the form of multivitamins to hasten the self-healing.

Take care, have a great day.
