Question:
I am having pain radiating down my right leg and sometimes into my foot. I cant seem to find a comfortable position to lie or sit. I also have a bulging lump on my right side that is radiating a few inches down my spine. I sit and work at a computer most of day and drive one day a week 4hrs. Any suggestions to help with this situation

Brief Answer:
Possibility of disc prolapse needs to be ruled out

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to Healthcare-Magic
Greetings of the day
Dear Ms XXXXXX

Going by description of pain in back and pain radiating along right leg and foot, one of the possibility that needs to be considered and ruled out is prolapse intervertebral disc of spine. Your daily activity of sitting in front of computer could be one of precipitating factor.

I would suggest you the following

1. Absolute bed rest

2. Hot water fomentation : Fomentation to back either by got water bottle or cloth soaked in hot water will be helpful if done 4 to 5 times a day

3. Avoid keeping air conditioning at very low temp. Cold air will promote spasm and worsen pain

4. Analgesic like Ibuprofen along with skeletal muscle relaxant like Chlorzoxazone will be helpful

If the symptoms still persist then do consult your Physician for further clinical assessment.

Do get back to me if you need any further assistance, will be glad to assist you.

Wishing you and your family a very happy and healthy life.

Brief Answer:
Unlikely to be due to fracture

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Dear Ms

Physical therapy is not advisable in the presence of pain. Once the pain subsides ,physical therapy can be started. It's unlikely to be due to fracture. It's more likely to be due to prolapse of intervertebral disc. In the presence of ongoing symptoms, further Evaluation by MRI of spine will be required.

Take care
