Question: I am male and experiencing dull pain with occasional sharp pains in my lower left abdomen and side area. The pain is worsening and causing increasing discomfort when I move. The pain seems to be worse in the morning than the afternoon. Can you give me an idea of what I am dealing with?

Brief Answer:
could be ureteric stone

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for writing to HCM.

Your symptoms could be due to ureteric stones or even diverticulitis.

Are you also having any burning sensation while urination? If yes, it goes more in favour of stones.

If there is any change in bowel habits, then it goes more in favour of diverticulitis.

I would suggest that you get an ultrasound of your abdomen done to look for the stones, along with a routine urine test.

Further management will depend upon the above reports.

Hope, i have been helpful.
