What Causes Pain Inside Anus?

default
Posted on Mon, 13 Apr 2015
Question: I have a pain inside my anus, on the outside of my anus it is normal with no pains and injuries even when I try to stick my hands in my anus, I still feel no pain, but along the same line of my anus, right inside I feel the pain. No blood and it quite easy to pass faeces. When I sit on the toilet sit with legs spread out a bit, the pain is not there, otherwise when I walk, before I sit down or when I intend to change my sitting lying positions, then pain is there. I tried to take ibuprofen but it had no effect at all. No other sign of sickness is there, no fever, no nothing. Only this pain in my anus.

Brief Answer:
Could be an ulcer

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Thanks for writing in

Usually it is a fissure which is painful on the anal verge

But your symptoms are bit unusual and would need a proctoscopy to rule out any mucosal lesion

As you have mentioned sticking hand inside the anus, medically known as fingering, there are chances you have created an ulcer inside, this is common in patients with chronic constipation and having sense of inadequate defecation

Try to see a good proctologist or a general surgeon in your area

In the mean time, take Ofloxacin+Ornidazole twice a day for ten days
A good laxative
A probiotic twice a day for two weeks
Hope this helps
Do write back in case of concern

In the mean time avoid fingering, manage

Hi Doctor,

Thank you for your quick response.

I think you misunderstood me, I said when I TRY to insert my finger (which you called fingering). Notice the word TRY. I didn't insert, I tried to, just to ascertain where exactly the pain is coming from, since there was no blemish on the surface of my anus.

So I think your suggestion that I might have created an ulcer cant be true, because the pain was there before I TRIED to ascertain where the pain is coming from.

I forgot to add this to my symptoms, when I sneeze or cough, I feel the pain more as if to say it directly connected to my spine.

Lastly the medications you prescribed are quite ambiguous, can you just tell me the trade name of the drugs, laxative, pro-biotic? I guess you are in XXXXXXX and am also in XXXXXXX so trade name of those medications would be better.

I hope Doctor that you please give me a more detailed answer (even in busy schedule), because in your last answer you seem to only focus on my fingering, which I didn't do technically. Please Doc I know you busy and am not the only one. Am quite scared here because am really not being used to any form of illness and am in poor locality, Chhatarpur, so I get someone better than you here. Please Doc.

Thank you.

Brief Answer:
It Could be a fissure associated with collitis

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Thanks for writing in again

May be I over looked the word TRY, but in that situation the probability of a fissure is more

Fissure can not be palpated and sensed by a finger, coughing and sneezing does aggravate the pain, so does straining while passing stool

Are you constipated ?
DO you pass mucus in stool ?
Do you have feeling of fullness after taking meals ?

Get back to me with this information to rule out collitis

As far trade names are concerned online forums do not permit prescribing without examining the patient

Yet on your request if the moderators allow this : Go for Tab Ornof twice a day, Cap Actigut Twice a day, Liq Cremaffin plus 2 tsf at bed time

Hope I have not missed any point this time
But please do not hesitate to write back if any specific information is needed

Thank you Doc,

I am not constipating (but this morning the feaces was harder as compared to the entirety of yesterday), the last time I checked there are no mucus in my stool as there is no blood and about your last question, I don't really have an appetite to eat as compared to few days ago, it maybe because am tired of eating same thing again and again (Noodles) Am an expat.

Lastly Doc, I notice when I wake up, the pain is less and then as the day grows old, I feel it more and more.

I really appreciate. Yeah I guess the moderators allowed it, because I got the trade names and am so glad they did because it would at least save me a little, before I get the chance to visit XXXXXXX if the results are not positive.

Thank you so much Doc.

Brief Answer:
Add fiber

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Thanks for the followup

I would suggest you take regular meals by managing it someway
Noodles is not a balanced diet it will hamper your GI tract

One hard stool is enough to cause a bad fissure

Please continue my medicines and keep me posted on the development
Wishing you a healthy life ahead
