What Causes Pain In The Throat With A Brown Patch On The Tonsil?

default
Posted on Mon, 7 Nov 2016
Question: Yes, I've had what I thought was strep throat about 3 days ago. It was very painful to swallow or eat anything. Just yesterday I noticed a brown patch on my right tonsil. It looks as if it is rotting. I do not what it I'd and what like insight on how to treat it at home if possible.

Brief Answer:
Photo is requested....

Detailed Answer:
Hi my dear,

I understand your concern.

Can you please take a photo of what you notice in your tonsils and send it to me? I need to evaluate myself?

You can simply upload it at the reports section..
From what you are describing, it might be tonsil stones or debris accumulated in the infected tonsils.

For the moment, I advise to:
- gargle with warm water and salt
- keep oral lozenges in the mouth
- take anti-inflammatory meds like paracetamol or ibuprofen
- keep ice cubes in the mouth until fully melted

Looking forward to have the requested photo in for more specific advice.
