What Causes Pain In Penis Tip Post Regional Hypothermia For Prostate Cancer?

default
Posted on Mon, 21 Sep 2015
Question: Hello,
I had regional hypothermia for prostate cancer but experienced painful penis tip burn towards the end of the second 3 hour session. Whilst there is now no sign of the cancer ejaculation fails to "pump" as it used to. Wonder if the 'burn' was damage to the prostate nerves that effected the climax sensation?

Brief Answer:
most likely the nerves have been affected

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for your query.

As it is regional hypothermia, it can affect any structure in the pelvis. Going by your symptoms, it appears that the nerves controlling ejaculations have been affected.

But it may improve with time because the damage may not be permanent.

Hope this helps. I will be available for follow up.
Regards

Thars agonk you,
I just realised I did not give you much background.
Treatment was in Gemany (I am from Australia) and was 21/2 years ago. # follow- up MRI's and PSA results 3monthly indicate treatment was good - oh and the prostate shrank from 80cc to 50cc today.
Ejaculation is both pleasurable and painful but overall good enough to have sex about twice a week -was 4/week prior.
Is there any known medication or vita-nutrients that may help hasten the recovery of the nerves. Should be happy as radical protectomy likely to have been much worse.
Thanks again XXXXXXX

Brief Answer:
ok now I got it

Detailed Answer:
Unfortunately there is no such specific medicine to help hasten recovery of nerves. You can certainly try vitamins B1, B6 and B12 and see if there is any response.

I agree that radical prostatectomy would have caused much worse symptoms.
