Question: The cortisone shot seemed to help with the back of my knee pain and swelling. He did not sspirate due to my history of osteomylites from s left toe 4 years ago that caused me to losose half the toe. He is vary cautious of aspirations due to chances of infection. That toe had mrsa 13 years ago and came back 4 years ago attacking the bone is why he is cautious. The left lateral area is still rubbing and continues to be out of line but the pain is much better.

It means you are having arthritis. You are likely to benefitted by analgesic such as ibuprofen and glucosamine. A repeat cortisone shot may be tried.
