Brief Answer:
Get Investigated.

Detailed Answer:
Welcome To HCM. I am Dr Anshul Varshney.
I understand your concern.
See most important concern is unexplained bruises and petechiae.
They might indicate any of the following: 1.Autoimmune disorder
2. Reduced platelet count.
3. Acquired / Inherited Coagulation factor deficiency.
All these present at this age only.
Also joint pains are a part of the Syndrome.
I wouod advise you to first of all go for following investigations:
1. Complete Blood Count.
2. Activated Partial Thromboplastin Time (aPTT)
3. Prothrombin time.
4. Bleeding and Clotting time.
5. Anti Nuclear Antibody (ANA)
These tests would clear the picture.
If you have got them done, share the reports.
If you have any further query please ask me.
Stay Healthy.

When I was in the hospital they did blood work. My white blood count is high along with my Platelets. They checked both legs from waist down to my ankles for blood clots and found nothing. The pain is not going away with pain meds and has become unbearable to walk. The hospital and my doctor both do not know what it could be. Just thought I would ask a doctor to get some insight.

Brief Answer:
Detail Follows.

Detailed Answer:
Dear Friend
If your White Blood Count and Platelet counts were high along with platelets, then, the bruises and petechiae are not due to reduced platelet counts, but you definitely require the above said investigations and a bone marrow examination.
Pain in back radiating to legs can be due to disc problem, you should get an MRI Lumbo-Sacral Spine for that.
I suppose, you should meet your Physician and discuss my opinion about getting these investigations, i am sure he will agree to this and post you.
If you have any further query please ask me.
Stay Healthy.

They have referred me to the Cancer Center in my location. They feel that it is possibly leukemia. Just thought I would let you know that this helped their further investigation as to where to go next. Thank you very much.

Detailed Answer:
Dear Friend.
I am actually also worried for leukemia and some other autoimmune disorder.
I was just avoiding taking the name Leukemia as I am so far from you that I can't even convince you.
Since you already know, then dear the suspicion is high, get tested.
Good Luck.
