What Causes Pain During Cough Shifting From Lower Right Side To Left Side?
Question: In the last day or two it first started off on the right side a searing pain in my lower right side along the pelvic line almost like a stabbing pain. Today it has extended to the left side whenever I cough or get up and move. It is extremely painful.

If I were your doctor, I would have first clinically examined your abdomen, followed by investigations like a CBC, urine routine test followed by a culture and sensitivity test if need be, a stool test for ova and cyst, and a urine pregnancy test/ serum HCG test in case you are sexually active and having regular periods presently. In that case, you also need to go for an ultrasound abdomen.
From your history of pain getting aggravated by cough, it seems to me like some inflammatory pathology in your abdomen one of the common being an appendicitis, or a pelvic inflammatory disease. However, you need a clinical examination by a general surgeon at the earliest to rule this out and institute appropriate investigation and management. Till then you could go for a symptomatic relief if need be with an anti spasmodic drug.
