Question: slight Dull pain below left rib cage.Comes and goes throughout the day.
Annoying more than the slight pain.
does not happen when sleeping.

Such pain in this location is usually caused by a peptic ulcer. It can be triggered by foods intake. It is dull, so you can not point the exact location of it. Usually does not radiate anywhere.
I suggest you to have gastroscopy done. This test can tell if its an ulcer (or something else) and if there is a H.Pylori infection which is the most common reason of ulcers.

In a meanwhile please avoid fatty foods, spicy foods, coffee, alcohol.
