Brief Answer:
Considerations

Detailed Answer:
hello and thank you for sending the question.

From what you have described including pain and swelling in the back of the leg down to the ankle this is concerning for a possible blood clot. I would bring this to the attention of your primary care doctor or surgeon as soon as possible. A very simple test can be done to rule out a blood clot.

Blood clots happen commonly after knee and hip surgery. Since you're having the symptomsin close proximity to the recent surgery I think it should be evaluated as soon as possible.

Thank you again for sending your question.

Sincerely,

Dr. Cgalamaga
