What Causes Pain And Something Stuck In The Right Side Of Throat After Having Dinner?

default
Posted on Fri, 15 May 2015
Question: 24 hrs ago after eating dinner (fried fish), I suddenly felt as if I had something caught in the right side of my throat. It felt hard and caused a great deal of pain. I kept trying to clear it and drank water several times. The scratchiness became less but there was increased pain. This morning and up until now, I can see a lump about the size of a peanut kernel which is very red. When I swallow, that area is very sore and feels swollen. My temp is 98.6 and I feel very tired and all over aching.

Brief Answer:
May be a foreign body in your throat

Detailed Answer:
Hi Mam,
I have gone through your query; it suggests that in your right side of throat it may be the foreign body lodged in the tonsillar area. Pain and redness may be due to the inflammatory response of this.

To rule out other disease and to reach the near diagnosis better to go for throat examination for this consult with your ENT specialist.

Take a mild pain killer such as paracetamol 500mg sos and anesthetic gel such as Mucain two tea spoon full before meal.

Thanks
