What Causes Numbness In Head And Dizziness?

default
Posted on Mon, 9 Feb 2015
Question: My head feels numb or floating above 'myself', while my body goes rigid, disconnected and like it's going to drop to the floor or tip over. During these times it seems physically readjusting my nose or pop open my plugged ears seems to change my perspective and my feeling of everything: I feel 'heavier' or 'lighter', the room seems to get smaller or wider, I feel as if I've changed positions even when standing or sitting perfectly still. The inside of my head feels swelling up, like a balloon almost, and I become hyper aware of what feels like tubes within my face expanding or contracting, or ropes within my head tightening, much of my face becomes extremely sensitive feeling, producing reactions elsewhere in my body if I touch it. During all this I still remain mentally lucid, can speak without difficulty, I can still walk and perform physical tasks fairly well although it feels bizarre to do so. Everything within my head just feels odd. . . like it's going to collapse within itself, or, ridiculously enough, float away or fall off! I'm just naturally pretty frightened when this happens and would be interested if anyone can shed some light on what's gone wrong.
