Question: I am still nursing my son. now he is 17 months old. From my pregnancy onwards i am having numbness and tingling sensation in my right hand in the early morning.. and nights also i feel blood is not passing to my hand. i feel little numbness in my hand and fingers. If i keep hand downwards or straight i feel better.. some times i can not hold my brush to clean my teeth in early morning. right after some time i feel better..
i will be on my computer most of the day time..is it because of any positioning of keeping hand on keybord and typing or due to pregnacy/nursing?
but before pregancy also i used to b on my system.but that time i never used to feel any issues with my hand..
Please let me know what is going on in my hand.

Dear Ms XXXXXXX
Going by your history , possibility of carpal tunnel syndrome has to considered. Median nerve which supplies the muscle of hand also the sensation of the hand , passes through cave like tunnel known as carpal tunnel while entering the hand from forearm. During pregnancy there is accumulation of fluid and extracellular matrix. This causes the tunnel to be occupied by fluid and matrix, causing compression of the nerve. Diagnosis will depend on good clinical examination. I would suggest you to consult your Physician for further clinical examination.
In majority of the cases the symptoms improve after delivery and in some after cessation of lactation.
I hope it helped
In case you require any further assistance, will be glad to assist you.
