What Causes Night Sweats, Bad Breath And Excessive Thirst Post Radiation For Cancer?

Question: I am 3year post breast cancer treated with surgery and radiation and doing well. I have been asked each check up how the night sweats are going and up to a couple of months ago they were tolerable. They have become almost not in the past few weeks. To the point they are keeping me awake, changing the bed and clothes and only at night. I also have RLS and was given Maripex about this same time. I have nasty smelling urine and breath, and thirst is at times great Have had routine fbs and they are normal. Are any of these connected. I have a routine post ca apt coming up in two weeks and I am having to have new doctors and do not know to whom to talk to about this or what I can do
anxious for some input. Is this from the cancer or something else. thought maybe the cancer since they keep asking about the night sweats as though it is expected

Brief Answer:
Night sweats and fevers maybe more suggestive of cancer!

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about what you are going through. What was the stage of your breast cancer? If there were reasons to suspect that this could not have been completely removed by surgery, then this may be concerning symptoms for possible recurrence. Night sweats, weight loss, night fevers, anorexia and fatigue are often suggestive of this. With your appointment coming up, it would be a great opportunity to get these symptoms addressed and investigated into. Bother not, the new doctors would have reviewed your records fully before meeting up with you.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Thanks for using our services and feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be.
