What Causes Nausea During Pregnancy?

default
Posted on Mon, 23 Oct 2017
Question: Hi. Recently we have had a few little mishaps and I'm a little nervous I might be pregnant. My period is do in 5 days but the last few days I've felt weird and nauseas. If I was pregnant it would have been from 10 or 5 days ago. This is too early to have symptoms right? Also, I don't want to ever feel like this again so until we are both ready I'm thinking I should get on birth control, but I want children in the next two years. I'm 37 almost 38 and I'm afraid if I get on birthcontol now, this late in life, I'll hurt my chances of getting pregnant down the road. Is this true?

Brief Answer:
it's risky to start birth control

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

starting birth control with pills is risky for a totally different reason. Women older than 35 years of age, have a higher risk for thrombosis when using such pills, particularly if they smoke. Birth control pills may upset the normal hormonal regulation but the hormones usually get back to normal some time after stopping the pills. So I wouldn't consider the birth control pills a risk because of the hormonal imbalance they may induce. I would consider a risk taking the pills because of your age though.

10 days after conceiving is not too early. Women may start to have symptoms at that point like breast tenderness, fatigue, nausea, etc. Remember that the conception occurs only a couple of weeks before the first missed period.

I hope it helps!
Kind regards!

Hi. So your saying that I could already be feeling the symptoms of pregnancy, even though we only had sex 10 days ago?

Brief Answer:
it is possible if conception occurred 10 days ago

Detailed Answer:
Some women don't feel anything special until a few weeks after conception, but it is possible to feel the first symptoms as early as one week after conception. Since the symptoms are subjective, it's not easy to document with certainty. If you do have symptoms of pregnancy then you should do a pregnancy test a two weeks after sex and repeat the test one week later if the first one was negative.

Kind Regards!
