What Causes Multiple Open Sores Around Anal Opening After Having Anal Sex?

default
Posted on Tue, 3 Jun 2014
Question: i participated in anal sex about a week ago without protection or lubricant both my partner and i are clean but are getting tested to be sure.
The opening of my anus is covered in very painful what looks like multiple little open sores that sting and itch. They are bright red in colour with white spits but there is no aparant blood. It constantly feels like there is something like a bubble or particles in there. The area is extremly sensitive making it very difficult & almost impossible to use the bathrom, wipe and or wash the area. I doubt its an std & Its getting very painful and difficult to endure and i currently dont have access to a doctor so id really like to know what it could possibly be and how to treat it.

I am Dr. Kakkar. I have gone through your concern.

I would like to rule out Herpes.

I would really appreciate if you could upload a clear digital photograph (preferably 2-3) of the area of concern, so that I may be able to help you better.

Brief Answer:
Herpes genitalis

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for the pictures.

This is classical Herpes Genitalis. Multiple grouped erosions around the anus.

I would suggest that you take an oral antiviral e.g Acyclovir 400mg three times daily for a week.

You should also get tested for STI's like HIV, syphilis etc

Brief Answer:
Classical Herpes

Detailed Answer:
Hi.

This is classical herpes. I am 100% sure.

Yes, you would require a prescription for acyclovir from your general practitioner/dermatologist.

I would suggest an OTC painkiller e.g ibuprofen, twice or thrice daily, for pain and discomfort. For itching, I would suggest an OTC antihistamine e.g cetrizine 10mg once daily,

You could apply a topical antibacterial e.g 2% mupirocin ointment, twice daily in order to prevent secondary bacterial infection of open sores.
