Brief Answer:
Mucus is a normal thing present with constipation.

Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Thank you for the query.

Mucus is a normal thing when you do not pass stool correctly. It is produced constantly to help with stool movement. When stool stays in the intestine, mucus only can appear.
The point is to find out the reason of your constipation. It may appear due to bad diet (low fiber intake, low water consumption), medicines (hypertension). Unfortunately similar symptoms can appear due to bowels obstruction.
If your abdomen is bloated, you get cramps from time to time, you should consult your doctor as soon as possible and have abdominal x-ray done.

If there is no such symptoms, you may try laxatives, increase fiber intake and mineral water intake.

In both cases colonoscopy should be scheduled.

Hope this will help. Feel free to ask further questions.
Regards.
