Brief Answer:
it is difficult to treat, you need to consult psychiatrist

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX

Thanks for writing to us.I can understand your concern.

Morgellons disease or Morgellons syndrome, is a condition in which people have the delusional belief that they are infested with disease-causing agents described as things like insects, parasites, hairs or fibers, while in reality no such things are present. It is also known as delusory parasitosis or Ekbom's syndrome. From your history is seems that you are suffering from the same.

This delusional parasitosis is difficult to treat. We psychiatrist used to get reference of such patients from our dermatologist colleagues. In this problem anti-psychotic medicine specifically first generation atypical anti-psychotic like haloperidol or pimozide is more useful. Sometime SSRI like fluoxetine is also added.

Cognitive behavior therapy may also help.

I suggest to consult psychiatrist for this problem.

Hope I have answered your query, I will be happy to help further.

Regards,
Dr.Chintan Solanki.
