Question: I am experiencing bad, somewhat metallic taste which I think is being transferred from my hands/fingers. Hands become somewhat oily as if secreting something. Would appreciate any thoughts. Thank you

From what you are describing, it looks to me like the body is trying to eliminate an excessive substance. People get the metallic taste when they are taking iron supplements and the body eliminates a big part of it.

So, my thoughts are you should not look for Iron deficiency only, but for the amount of Iron in the body. That can be tested by doing Ferritin and Sideremia analyse. If those are either high or low, it tells you if someone has either iron deficiency or excessive Iron in the body.
