What Causes Lower Back Pain Upon Waking Up?

default
Posted on Mon, 11 Jul 2016
Question: I experience a sharp pain getting out of bed or chair in the morning - does not repeat during day while active. Could this be due to kidney or internal organs, because I have not strained any lower back muscles recently? I am healthy and have no other problems other than taking medication to control high blood pressure for the past 10 years. I have only experienced this short intense getting out of bed pain just above my hips for about a week now. XXXXXXX

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX
Welcome
I have gone through your query. And do understand your concern.
Kindly provide few more information like
Since when you are facing this problem?
Is there any history of injury?

Based on the information by you, it may be due to muscle strain. Sometimes muscle are stretched unknowingly during some activities.

You should take NSAID like Aceclofenac with muscle relaxants like Chlorzoxazone/ Tizanidine twice daily for 3-5 days based on the response. You can ask your local doctor for prescription of this agent. Along with this hot compression and analgesic gel or spray will be beneficial. Also give rest and avoid any activities that aggravates the pain. This will help you.

This provisional advice provided by me is based entirely on the input provided to me. I would suggest examination by the doctor.

I hope this suggestion might be of some help to you. Please accept my answer in case you do not have further queries.

Take care.
