What Causes Lightheadedness And Tingling In Neck And Shoulders After Colon Resection Surgery?
I'm a 48yo male, 6'2" and 245 lbs. I had a Sigmoid colon resection 4 months ago. For the last couple of months I've felt lightheadedness, tingling of the neck and shoulders and head feels heavy. The most severe episodes I get a hot flash and almost pass out. I went to the er fearing a stroke was imminent ct scan and ekg were clear, bp was ok, blood work only showed high red blood cell count and follow-up with pcp can't get in for 2 weeks. Last night had tingling in both arms and head and left side of my face had a burning sensation. I know something is wrong but er doc wasn't believing how it's interfering with my day to day functioning.
Need MRI of the Cervical spine.
Detailed Answer:
Hello, Sir.
I can certainly understand your concerns.
Your symptoms have to be categorized into two setd., one pertaining to neck and skull base, the second systemic symptoms of burning.
Elevated RBC count needs additional testing with Hemoglobin and Hematocrit assessment.
Likewise , an MRI of skull base and Cervical spine is strongly recommended to rule out Cervical disc prolapse which may cause similar symptoms.
Also, kindly upload all your test reports recent and recommended.
Further management if any is based largely on the test results.
Meanwhile, I would like to prescribe Oral pills Vitamin B12 1000mcg once a day for 3 weeks.
Please check with your physician if he shares my view and if can prescribe the same to you.
Post your further queries if any.
