default
Posted on Fri, 3 Nov 2017
Question: I'm an 82 year old male with type 2 diabetes and no other serious issues. Recently, I've been having pain in the back of my legs when standing, getting out of bed in the morning, etc. I walk several miles each day, however it's mostly with dogs so not great cardio exercise.

Brief Answer:
Is this pain on the soles or the calves?

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks so much for this query.

To be of most help, I will need some more information. I will like to know where exactly this pain is located as it is necessary towards making the right call and proposing treatment options. Also, does this pain gets better as the day unfolds?

Pain from soles often suggests plantar fasciitis. This gets better as the day unfolds.
Pain from calves suggest vascular issues.

Let me hear from you before providing more insights and guidance.
