default
Posted on Fri, 4 Jul 2014
Question: For the past five mornings around 4am I wake with pain in my lower back on the left hand side. The pain extends to just below the rib area. After couple hours it disappears with no treatment however until it disappears it hurts to breathe and the area feels hot. Recently we ave been to Hong Kong ame back with chest infection. Couldn't take antibiotics prescribed, these aused severe stomach cramps and diarrhoea for 17 days. Faeces test apparently indicates nothing wrong.

Brief Answer:
This pain needs urgent investigation.

Detailed Answer:
Hello madam
I have read your question. It looks to me that this pain can be because of following conditions.
1. Chest infection and pleural effusion
2. Heart problems
3. Gastritis
I would suggest you to go to doctor as soon as possible and get following tests.
1. Chest x ray
2. ECG and 2d echo
3. Ultrasound of that region

I will be concerned if some one with similar patients come to my clinic. Therefore I insists you to get these test as soon as possible.

Regards
