What Causes Late Periods Inspite Of Having Negative Pregnancy Test?
Question: Hi
My Last period was on 26th March and as per ovulation kit, fertile day was on 18th and 19th April on which we had intercourse. I have regular periods of 24 or 25 days and as per past history, next periods should have taken place on 19th or 20th April which I missed already.. I did home pregnancy test on 21st April but it came out negative.
I felt pre menstural cramps on my due date of period but periods didnt come.
Shall I wait for few more days for home pregnancy test?

Today, i did Home pregnancy test and result is negative, not even faintest line appeared. LMP was 26th march ( normally 25 days cycle) so now periods are late by almost 6 days. I also had small amount of white discharge 2 days ago.
I am confused that what could be reason for delay in periods?
The only different thing i did in this cycle was taking Fertisure F for 4 days on day 14 of cycle and 1 XXXXXXX of calcium, ovulation strip was positive on day 16 and 17 when we had intercourse.
One correction from my first post is that my actual fertile days were on 10-12th April when we had sex.
Please advise as I am supremely confused and worried.
a)HPT should have indicated positive if i am pregnant, right?
b) HCG levela should have built up by now if i am pregnant?
c) if not pregnant, then whats reason for missed period and white discharge?

a) HPT is positive when the periods are at least 5 days overdue. It is best to wait till 30th April and then test again.
b) HCG levels should have started rising by now in case of pregnancy. You can get your serum HCG levels evaluated to find out your status of pregnancy.
c) The white discharge and the missed periods in the absence of pregnancy could be due to hormonal imbalance, emotional upset, anxiety, stress, or other medical conditions that affect the ovaries, uterus, hypothalamus, or pituitary gland. Hypothyroidism, polycystic ovarian syndrome or less frequently a pituitary tumor causing high prolactin levels or a hypothalamic disease are other causes that may be the cause here if pregnancy is ruled out.
Please visit your gynecologist to undergo physical check up and also to undergo relevant investigations required in your case to find out the cause so that treatment can be given accordingly.
