What Causes Itchy Red Purple Spot On Inner Thigh?

Question: Hi Doctors, I have a spot on my inner thigh that is a little larger than a quarter and oval in shape. It is red/purple. If I touch it the skin turns white. It is not oozing anything. Slighty puffy. It does itch some. I have had it about a week now. I put Aveeno on it yesterday, no change is size, shape, or color. Any ideas? Thanks, XXXXXXX

I understand your concern.The spot by your symptom does not seem to be a serious one.It could just be a random vesicle with blood in it giving it a reddish-purple color which could be due to minor trauma in your blood vessel under skin.

I would strongly recommend you to see a Dermatologist and rule out melanoma.
