What Causes Involuntary Gasping?
Question: what is causing my involuntary gasping? it occurs more often when lying down at night but moving about and working out heavily w/ wts and using the tread mill do not produce it-thank you

I am so sorry to hear about this gasping that you have reported. When lying down, so much changes and can affect breathing. I would like to know what your weight and height are. This will enable me t compute your BMI and follow along those lines as persons with obesity and over weight can have difficulties breathing when lying flat on a surface as structures in the abdomen can exert higher pressure on structures in the chest causing this. Also, sleep apnea which is common in obese persons could be the origin as well that meeds to be addressed accordingly.

I am 5 11 and weigh 185. I would like more information as to the cause. Thank you
