What Causes Intermittent Pain In Breasts?

Question: Hi Doctor,
I feel pain in my breast from past 2 months. It does not pain continuously. It just pains for a week r 2 and then its fine. It pains only if I touch it. Is there something to worry about? I have not experienced any pain before, it is just form past 2 months.
Can you please kindly advice me.

Thanks for asking on healthcaremagic. Mastalgia or pain in the breast in females of your age, often occurs due to excess of female hormones like oestrogensoestrogens. Usually it is not a cause of concern. Sometimes it is associated with some lumpy consistency due to a phenomenon called fibroadenosis which too is not a cause to worry about. But I would insist you to visit a gynecologist and get yourself checked to be on the safer side.
