What Causes Intermittent Nausea, Constipation And Fever?

default
Posted on Wed, 18 Oct 2017
Question: I have had lower right quadrant abdominal pain on and off for a year. Pain comes on with eating and without eating as well. Pain wraps around to my back and can be severe. I also suffer bloating and gas along with constipation. No fever, intermittent nausea and some reflux are additional symptoms. I recently had an Abdominal Pelvic Ultrasound and the result was the presence of small liver hemangiomas in the right and left lobe of the liver. Otherwise, no other abnormalities were found. This pain is often relieved lying in the no. 4 position. Hard to bend over at times. Gastro says it is constipation.

As per your query answers are-
See hemangiomas usually don't cause pain and even if they cause it(in rare cases) presentation is not like yours.

See due to constipation food stagnates in our intestines this stagnated food is acted upon by a large number of harmful bacterias and pathogen which causes production of large amount of gases. These gases accumulate in intestines and compresses the nerves passing through its muscular walls this causes severe pain.Relieve in pain associated with position is usually related to gas only.
Accumulated gas can either pass through anus or mouth. When the gas reverts back to mouth passing through stomach and other areas it provokes nausea.

Radiation to back is also suggestive of this fact only.See the nerves in intestines when compresed causes pain to radiate to back(overlapping dermatomes).

Suggestions-
Start taking lactulose 15 ml once daily before going to bed.Its a laxative and would help you get proper bowel moments very safe and can be used for months.

Eat a well- balanced diet with plenty of fiber. Good sources of fiber are fruits, vegetables, legumes, and whole-grain bread and cereal (especially bran).
Drink 1 1/2 to 2 quarts of water and other fluids a day . Fiber and water work together to keep you regular.
Avoid caffeine. It can be dehydrating.
Cut back on milk. Some people may need to avoid it because dairy products may be constipating for them.
Exercise regularly. Do something active for at least 30 minutes a day, most days of the week.
Go to the bathroom when you feel the urge.

If you want to take natural therapy consider-
Yogurt: It is an excellent source of probiotics which contain beneficial bacteria. Yogurt is a great remedy for constipation. You can consume it daily to keep constipation at bay.
Baking Powder: Baking powder has an alkalizing effect and eases movement through bowels. Add a teaspoon to cup of warm water and drink it quickly for best results.
Oatmeal Tea: When constipation is severe, this remedy is the best. Oatmeal is fibrous, Honey is healing and moisturizing, and Chamomile is an anti-inflammatory agent which soothes the stomach. Together, they can cure severe constipation. So, take a cup of water and add three teaspoons of oatmeal, a Chamomile tea bag and two teaspoons of honey. Drink 2-3 times a day if your problem is severe.
Lemon: Lemon contains citric acid, which has the ability to stimulate the function of digestion in your body. The action of lemon on your digestive system enables it to get rid of the toxins and undigested material that generally accumulates on the colon's (the last part of your small intestine) walls, giving rise to constipation as a result. Collect the juice of 1 lemon in a cup by squeezing it. Fill the rest of the cup with warm water. Drink it every morning.
