default
Posted on Thu, 16 Feb 2017
Question: Dear Doctor, Neeru takes Thyronorm 125 mcg daily for Thyroid. Should she continue taking that? Also seeing her report, do you advise we consult a cardiologist or just exercises and avoiding high calorie foods would do for the moment. The report specifies High Risk on hs-CRP and hence the concern.

Brief Answer:
No reports available here...

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I thank you for asking your concerns here. However I don't see any reports uploaded. If you forgot to upload it earlier, please upload it again. I will be able to discuss about medications after reviewing your thyroid hormone / profile report.

As far as hs CRP is concerned, you need not be overly bothered about it. Follow healthy diet, low calorie, low fat diet, maintain weight, physical exercise, avoiding smoking and alcohol will keep heart healthy.

Regards

Brief Answer:
No serious concerns. continue thyroid supplements...

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

My apologies for the late reply.

I went through the details and your laboratory test results. Before commenting, may I know if you had any specific symptoms before the test.

Your reports revealed:
1. Marginally raised eosinophil counts with changes in red blood cells. Red blood cells may be related to iron deficiency. It needs further testing.
2. Normal blood sugar and underactive thyroid state. However the TSH values seems to be stabilized and within target range. You should continue thyroid medication thyronorm 125 and repeat TSH tests after few weeks.
3. Elevated ALP with other liver functions normal. It would be wise to recheck it after few weeks and then act on it.
4. Low serum Iron stores. It can be corrected with medications.

All these and few other changes found in your report are not concerning. You should continue the current medications. It will help you. Besides these, you may repeat few tests especially iron level, TSH, liver function test.

Hope this answered your question. Let me know if you need clarifications.

Regards
