Brief Answer:
Should see doctor

Detailed Answer:
Hi and welcome.
If there are breathing difficulties, progressing pain in stomach or uncontrolled vomit then you need to see doctor as soon as possible since it may be surgical complication. Otherwise, you should take easier diet, menta tea, probiotics, one spoon of olive oil in the morning and take pantoprasol pills. Also, you should avoid long sitting. Wish you good health. feel free to ask further questions. Regards

Thank you so much! And i just drink lots of water and know its important to walk around. But my concern too the random dry heaving and feeling nauseous for hours after , my anti-nausea meds dont even help me. I cant go to work without being in a lot of pain , dry heaving and lots of bloating.. should i take more time off work and just relax? I am a patient care tech in a hospital. But I dont feel comfortable working just yet.

Brief Answer:
Yes

Detailed Answer:
Hi. Yes ,you should definitely rest for 3- 4 weeks postoperatively since Nissen fundoplasty is extensive procedure even if done laparoscopically. Nausea may occur and persist for several weeks but it should gradually subside. Nausea happens because upper part of stomach is pressed with sutures so it takes time till stomach stretches again to previous size. most important thing is to avoid overeating and have easier diet. Antinausea drugs such as metocloparid or torecan may be helpful in some cases. Wish you good health. Regards
