Brief Answer:
It can be due to salivary gland infection or lymph node enlargement.

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Thank you for asking HCM.

I have gone through your query. Your problem can be due to swelling of salivary gland or lymph node enlargement. This is usually due to viral infections. NSAIDs ibuprofen and chewable vitamin c will be helpful. This will subside in some days. Hot fomentation will be helpful also. You can also do saline gargle. If there is no improvement then an examination with ENT specialist should be done.

Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear.
Thanks.

Detailed Answer:
Welcome again.

Thank you for your follow up.

If you strain the jaw while sitting then it can be related to that. In such case neck also will have some impact. Ice pack application, hot fomentation and over the counter NSAIDs like ibuprofen will be helpful in such case also.

Let me know if any thing not clear. I am happy to help you.
Thanks.
