Brief Answer:
? Hidradenitis suppurativa

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Welcome to Healthcare Magic,

The history and the symptoms of armpit boils are favoring the diagnosis of Hidradenitis suppurativa which should be confirmed by physical examination.

If you are having boils in your armpit on many occasions, it is very likely to be Hidradenitis suppurativa. Usually these boils will develop as a painful boils which takes about a week to go away and in severe conditions it may be present all the time.

Hidradenitis is due to blockage of the hair follicles. Once blocked the hair follicle becomes inflamed it will swells up into painful and large boil.

There is no known cause for this and it runs in some families, so it may be partly genetic.

During the episodes of armpit boils, I would suggest you to follow

1. Apply a hot fermentation over the boils.
2. Long term antibiotic course with erythromycin is beneficial in treating the boils.
3. Short course of oral corticosteroid tablets for 3 or 4 days is useful in reducing the edema and pain.
4.Oral Ibuprofen will help to reduce the pain.

I would recommend you to consult skin specialist for advice about long term treatment. The aforementioned measures will help to control the symptoms during the episodes of armpit boils.

Thank you.
