What Causes Fatigue, Cold And Abnormal Sensation Around The Eyes?

default
Posted on Tue, 6 Sep 2016
Question: Yes, thank you. I recently returned from New Orleans, experiencing sultry heat, humidity and a very coll air conditioned apartment. On my last day I ate cooked oysters. THat evening I lost my voice and felt as if I had a cold. On my return to New York, slowly my voice came back, I was unusually tired (I am quite healthy) and I had and still have (though slightly) a sensation around my eyes similar to flu. There is no temperature, however and I am slowly getting better.

Brief Answer:
Upper respiratory tract infection, symptomatic treatment

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome
I have gone through your query.
Your symptoms are of upper respiratory tract infection, most of the time they are viral in nature and requires only symptomatic treatment.
Antibiotic are not usually required, as you have already started the antibiotic, kindly complete the course. I would suggest you not to take the medicines without consulting doctor in the future.

I would suggest you to take plenty of water, especially warm water. Warm Salt water gargling three to four times a day. Steam inhalation with few drops of eucalyptus oil in it. Lozenge like strepsil or cofsil two to three per day for two to three days.
Take table spoon of honey with warm water in the morning.
Kindly follow this measures along with antibiotic you should be fine.

Hope this helps.
Take care
