default
Posted on Thu, 21 Aug 2014
Question: I go for small running daily in morning. I try to complete 4 Kms in 35 mins. I am experiencing fatigue and pain in my leg muscles. I am not able to go for run continuous days. If i complete 4 kms one day then i have to take break for next two days.
I have started taking Glucose supplement after my running. Not sure which one to take.
Till last year i was doing good in running. I was able to run for 5 kms with no so much fatigue.
Please suggest me how can i continue with my daily run by overcoming this fatigue and pain in muscles?

Brief Answer:
Check for dehydration, electrolytes and thyroid.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Few things that can cause such symptoms are dehydration, electrolyte imbalance due to sweat and reduced thyroid hormones.

You can try few things.

Try drinking glass of water with electral power in before running.Any branded glucose preparation is good enough. You can take it as well before running.

Try this for week and see if this helps.

If this fails to show results then consider a clinical evaluation and discuss with doctor about getting your thyroid levels checked and about vitamin supplements.

Hope this helps. Please ask if there are doubts.Regards.

Brief Answer:
Such supplements are not that helpful.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Such supplements have no great or extraordinary benefits to offer.A balanced diet is better than such supplements.

I personally never recommend such preparations.Such products are over hyped. My advice is to avoid them.

And even such supplements are not approved by drug/pharmacy associations. In case you want try one of them, please read disclaimer. You will understand what they promise in fine print.

Regards.
