What Causes Extreme Weakness Accompanied With Leg Aches?
Question: i have been having extreme weakness accompanied with aching in my legs. I also have water retention around my chins and have had the heart XXXXXXX test and every other one showing it's not heart related, no blockages. Is my problem maybe a type of Myopatheies.

I have read your case . Before I advice you any medicines I want to know few things.
1.Since when you are having weakness and leg pain ?
2.Have you checked your blood pressure recently?
3.What is your blood sugar recently?
4. If possible please get your serum B 12 estimation.

I've experienced this aching weakness in years past but only when I had walked or hiked for near a half a mile or more. Now, I ache when I start walking and it may go away for a short time then it comes back after walking for a longer distance. Blood sugar is a bit up and down but I usually average around 130 - 150. I haven't checked my blood pressure but will do when I get home. I will have my b12 serum checked. I also have itching and water in my lower legs, chins. Do you know if this could be related to blood pressure or low B 12? Thank you

Hello,
I have studied your case in detail and it looks to me that you are having Diabetic neuropathy. In this disease because of high sugar, nerves get damaged and patient complain of tiredness and weakness. Some time there is altered sensation and paraasthesia. Accumulation of fluid around chin and both feet is also due to blood sugar.
I usually give following suggestion to my patients in same complaints.
1. Maintain proper blood sugar control.
2. Take Pregabalin and Methylcobal tablet. Vitamin B 12 or Methylcobalamine is drug of choice for Diabetic neuropathy.
3. Some water retention can also be due to high blood pressure, so keep your blood pressure under control.
