What Causes Dry Cough?

Question: I am facing dry cough problems from some 2 months. It gets fixed if i take some medicine and then again comes back when ever i eat something sweet or work in AC. I remember i face such issue each year. But usually it goes away in a month, this time its troubling me a lot. Please suggest

Thanks for your query.
From your history it seems to me that you may be suffering from allergic rhinitis and cough variant asthma. You need to undergo following investigations -
1. Chest X-ray (PA view)
2. Sputum eosinophil count
3. Total serum IgE level
4. Absolute eosinophil count
5. Spirometry with bronchodialator reversibility
You need to consult a pulmonologist soon and get yourself thoroughly examined and go for spirometry specially and if required go for dry powder inhalers or like that along with anti-histaminic and nasal spray to relieve your symptoms.
