What Causes Drop In Heart Rate Before Sleep?

Question: My resting heart rate drops to 56 bpm right before i sleep. Im not athletic and i am 34 yrs old with no symptoms a bit overweight.while moving around my HR is always between 60 and 100. Should i be worried because of the low heart rate which is 56 before i sleep and lying without moving?

Dear sir
Heart rate is a continuous variable which may change second to second, depending upon the level of physical and mental stress. Heart rate increases in any situation with increased stress like anxiety, interview, exam, fever, running etc. So it is normal for heart rate to decrease as you de-stress, like when you retire to bed. 56 BPM is normal at bed time provided you do not have any symptoms or discomfort.
