What Causes Dizziness, Muscle Spasms And Pain In Lumbar Area?

default
Posted on Tue, 15 Apr 2014
Question: Is it possible minimal spondylitis could be causing all my symptoms as mri head was normal cervical mri neck showed minimal spondylitis.. I have dizziness. Muscle spasms and pain in lumba area but keep having spasm wave ferling over my head. I had chiropractic treament in aug last year for a few months after it started and it seemed to work but two months ago it started again out the blue. Im really annoyed as a dr who saw me recently tried to say i need to see a rheumatologist but its possibly anxiety causing the problem. I tried to go back to the chiropractor who helped me but they left and a new person cracked my neck and lumba area i have been a lit worse since this happened.. Is it viable that minimal spondylitis could be the main culprit in this situation... Ive been told the gp is hoing to prescribe me pregablin what is this? Let me know thanks

Brief Answer: Follows. Detailed Answer: Dear Madam, Thank you for posting your query on HCM. Well looking into your problem I would like to tell you that cervical spondylitis can give rise to dizziness but other symptoms like muscular spasms in lumbar area cannot be explained by this . You doctor has rightly advised you to see a rheumatologist because disease like fibromyalgia , chronic fatigue syndrome etc . may also give rise to similar symptoms . Pregabalin is a drug that is used to treat symptoms of cervical spondylitis plus it is also helpful in pain augmentation syndromes so you should take it . Without examination it will be difficult to comment so I would also advise you to see a rheumatologist for this . Also get your metabolic profile like calcium levels and vitamin D levels done to rule out any metabolic deficiency. Take care. Dr. Shruti
