What Causes Distraction, Poor Concentration And Short Attention Span?

Question: I am working as an Assistant Professor (CSE). I am very much interested in doing research work. I want to do work hard but from few months i am suffering from a strange behaviour modification. if i want to write some research article then something works as an obstacle and after that i just spent my time either in surfing or in watching unusual things.

I understand your concern.

This could possibly be a though intrusive/obsessive disorder.

This is a commonly prevalent condition.

This usually causes a distraction in the attention span and concentration levels.

I advise you to attend classes on CBT-cognitive and behavioural therapy.

Consultation with a psychologist will be helpful.

A short course of SSRI's drugs like Escitalopram will be helpful.Please check with your physician if he shares my view and if can prescribe them to you.

Practice Meditation and Yoga.This will have a great impact in your behaviour and thought process.
